Safeguarding Policy

Ace Academic Tutors Ltd is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people who use our services. We expect everyone working with us to share this commitment. This policy applies to all tutors, staff and anyone acting on our behalf.

1. Our commitment

The welfare of the child is paramount. We aim to provide a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment, and to act quickly and appropriately if we have any concern about a child’s safety or wellbeing.

2. Safer recruitment

• All tutors are interviewed before they join us.
• All tutors hold an enhanced DBS check and provide references.
• Identity and relevant qualifications are verified.
• Tutors agree to our code of conduct and this safeguarding policy.

3. Safe online lessons

• Lessons take place in our monitored online classroom, not on personal accounts.
• Communication between tutors and families is conducted through approved channels, not private personal contact details.
• We encourage lessons to take place in a shared family space, with a parent or guardian nearby and able to check in.
• Tutors maintain professional boundaries at all times.

4. Recognising concerns

All tutors are expected to be alert to signs that a child may be at risk of harm, including physical, emotional or sexual abuse, neglect, or online harm. Concerns may arise from something a child says, something observed, or a change in behaviour.

5. Reporting concerns

If a tutor or staff member has a safeguarding concern, they must report it immediately to our Designated Safeguarding Lead. Concerns are recorded and, where appropriate, referred to the relevant local authority children’s services or the police without delay. In an emergency, where a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
