We teach online, one to one and in small groups, from KS1 to A-Level, and we prepare children for the 11+. Lessons are taught by subject tutors, and after every one you get a written report on what was covered and what to work on next.
Ace Academic Tutors Ltd was founded in 2024 by Hamza Liaquet, who holds a PhD in fluid dynamics, and Anum Liaquet, a secondary maths teacher.
We are mathematicians and subject specialists who teach. The classroom, the lesson reports and the progress tracking were all built in-house rather than bought in, so that we could give parents a straighter answer about how their child is doing.
Lessons are live, with video and a whiteboard the students write on too. Working gets written out rather than described.
Screens can be shared, and a past paper or worksheet can be opened and marked inside the lesson.
Each has its own layout, so a lesson taken on a phone works the same as one taken on a laptop.
A lesson is an hour. Most of the week is not, so the tools a student uses on their own are part of the same picture rather than something separate.
The tutor sets practice on what was actually covered that day, so the week has something specific in it rather than a general instruction to revise.
A student can work on any topic in their subject, not only the ones their tutor has reached. Useful for getting ahead, and for going back to something from last year that never quite made sense.
What was attempted, what went wrong and when. The next lesson can start from that rather than from asking how the week went.
Work done alone counts the same as work done in a lesson. The topic picture moves either way, so a child who puts the hours in on their own gets the credit for it.

The schedule, what was taken, what was missed and what was rescheduled, taken from who was actually in the room. Invoices and what you have paid sit in the same place.
“Algebra” is not one thing. Underneath it sit expanding brackets, factorising, solving quadratics, completing the square, and a dozen more. A child can be fine with the first two and stuck on the fourth, and a single label like “algebra” hides exactly that.
So we break each subject down the way the national curriculum does, into topics and then into the individual things a child is expected to be able to do. GCSE maths comes to thirteen topics. Each one gets a plain description of where your child is at the moment.
One right answer does not move a topic. Practice keeps going back to whatever is weakest, and returns to things a few weeks after they looked fine, because a topic that is dropped in October is usually the one that goes wrong in the exam.
Homework is marked as it is done, but anything we are not confident about is set aside for the tutor to look at rather than counted automatically.
We teach Maths, English and Science, and we prepare children for the 11+. A tutor teaches their own subject and no others. Tutors are university-educated, with degree-level knowledge of the subject they teach.
If a tutor is not the right fit for your child, tell us and we will change them. There is no charge for it, you do not need to give a reason, and it happens often enough that nobody will find it awkward.
Call or email, say you would like someone else, and we arrange the next lesson with a different tutor. Nothing else about your booking changes.
Anything that worries you goes the same way, to a person rather than a form. Our safeguarding policy sets out how we handle concerns about a child's welfare, and who deals with them.

Ace Academic Tutors is registered in Rainham, in the London Borough of Havering. Lessons are taught live online, so where a family lives makes no difference to who teaches their child or when.
In practice that means a child in Upminster and a child in Manchester get the same tutors and the same reports. It also means lesson times are not limited by how far anyone can travel on a school night.
